its been a while… again.

hello everyone. i haven’t updated this bad boy in a while. for those of you who care, hah.

im sure most of you have heard by now, but im gonna post it on here for anyone who hasnt! here we go:

in May, I went on a cruise with my family to the eastern caribbean. it was sick. so im walkin around the boat the 2nd night looking for something to do, and I asked my brother if he wanted to go into this super lame dance club with me to see what it was like. he went in there for about 5 minutes with me, smoked a cigarette and left. i was having fun watching all of the wasted bro’s and their slut girlfriends make idiots of themselves on the dance floor, so i decided i would stay until I finished my Diet Coke and then i’d leave. so, im about 2 sips away from finishing my drink, and the “Cupid Shuffle” comes on, and everyone went nuts and start doing this ridiculous dance in unison. Just as I’m about to leave, this girl walks up to me. Now, I had seen this girl the day before, but she was walking around the boat with this HUGE douchebag, so i just assumed they were together or something. you know, typical example of the hot girl and the raging loser boyfriend where you just look at them and think “wow. really? THATS who she’s with?” … anyway. that same girl walked up to me in that lame dance club just as i was about to leave, and she goes “do you know this dance?” (referring to the cupid shuffle). i looked at her kinda jokingly and said “hell no..” and shes like “oh, me either”. however, when she spoke, i noticed a british accent. so i said “where are you from?” and she said “im from England”. so we spent the next 4 hours talking about music and other random crap. then i walked her back to her room, said goodnight and headed back to my room. but i already had the hugest crush on this girl.

so the days went on and we spent literally 12-14 hours with each other every day. so the last day finally came and we had to say our goodbyes and all that crap. i honestly dont remember being that sad and depressed in my life. but i got her email address earlier in the week just to kinda keep in contact with her, figuring i had made a really good friend and that i would just have to get over my feelings for her when i got home. so we got home and started talking online, once again for hours and hours a day.

long story short, she decided to move to Chicago to be with me and she arrives on Septeber 3rd :)

i know it’s insane, you dont have to tell me. i fully understand that its crazy. but a lot of people ask, so i figured id tell you as best i could and set the record straight.

oh, and to clear up another rumor thats bound to spread and get blown out of proportion very soon…:

Zane is no longer a member of The Fastest Kid Alive. however, that does not mean we hate him or talk bad about him. he’s done a lot of work for this band and we’re very greatful for that. the bottom line is we jumped the gun in accepting a new drummer when Austin left, and it wasn’t working out down the road. it wasnt some crazy story or drama or anything, it just wasnt working out and thats all there really is to it.

so Austin is playing with us again for the time being. If you play drums and have what it takes to be in this band (legit equipment, willingness to tour a LOT, not going to school, 18 , not a douchebag, not a huge drinker/partier, and dont do drugs) and you wanna try out, get at me!
but yea, im gonna go. hope youve enjoyed my story.

P.S. :: were releasing a new Digital EP in a few months along with a Christmas song. im really excited for everyone to hear it :)

quick update… since i dont do that anymore.

we’re on tour and the new CD is selling like hotcakes. or… whatever else sells really well.

bottom line = im happy and everything is going well.

mewithoutYou - “It’s All Crazy! It’s All False! It’s All A Dream! It’s Alright.”

mewithoutYou is SO different from their first 3 albums, in a way i never really thought possible. I was never really into this band, but i literally haven’t stopped listening to this album since i’ve gotten it. it’s unbelievable. and he sings on the entire album rather than yelling poetry.

Austin Neely, the new As Cities Burn album is disgusting. its similar, but a few songs are more major key than their other stuff. the guitar tones are sooooo good, too. listen to “Pirate Blues” before you tell me this album sucks.

if you get either of these albums, get at me somehow and let me know what you think of them.

Never in my life have I ever heard someone butcher a song that horribly. It was the absolute worst cover song i have heard in my entire 22 years of existence. I’m actually physically sick to my stomach.

whoa. i forgot i had one of these.

hi everyone. brief summary of gary’s life as of late:

1.) the band is doing well. we leave for tour in 9 days and record the new album immediately after that. im stoked, to say the very least.

2.) im going on a cruise to the eastern caribbean from May 16th - May 23rd. should be sick.

3.) ive started taking medicine to help me quit smoking. and its slowly working. wish me luck :)

4.) our local music scene officially makes me laugh at times. the lows some people go to just to impress others. it really is comical at this point. like ive said plenty of times before, i’ll let my bands progress speak for itself. if you’ve heard our name, we’re doing what we’re supposed to.

i’ll be back soon with some not-so-bitter posts. peace.
